What is happiness? Kay Tse offers an interpretation in her highly anticipated new Cantonese album Ni Men De Xing Fu. Built around the theme of happiness in a broken, doomsday-obsessed world, the album continues her long line of socially conscious works combining thought-provoking lyrics and catchy melodies with the Hong Kong pop diva's soothing voice. Written by Lin Xi, the titular track "Your Happiness" (Track 4) questions the truth in the saying "ignorance is bliss" as it describes how people fill their lives with all kinds of diversions in order to evade the social problems around them. Other main cuts of the album include the chart-topping lead single "December 20" and, on the opposite end of the track list, "December 22", satirical songs about what people would do before and after the alleged end of the world.
